Free Plans (Files) for a Shaper Origin Workstation
I am offering these files/plans to you for free, just because! These three downloads are for a Shaper Origin Workstation that converts from a horizontal orientation to a vertical orientation.
I have two blog articles about this workstation design. The first article describes all of the features, and the second article discusses the build process. I would encourage you to take a look at these before building your workstation. I also have two accompanying YouTube videos about this if you would like to view them.
Why This Design
There are some very nice workstation designs for the Shaper Origin on the Shaper Hub. In fact, my design is really an iteration of those that I saw on the Hub. Most of the workstation designs that I’ve seen are optimized for vertical work. Of course, I want to do vertical work with my Origin, but I plan to use it mostly for horizontal work. So, I designed a workstation that converts for both Vertical and Horizontal work.
The Downloads:
The first download is just the Sketchup file. The next download includes a cut list and the .SVG files for cutting the parts from larger sheets of plywood. The final download includes a cut list and separate .SVG files for each individual piece required to build the workstation.
Both of the zip files with the .SVG’s also include a PDF that lists all of the individual pieces and their sizes. It also has some information that would be helpful during the build.
Some Clarification:
Technically, these are not “plans” like the ones that I offer for my workbench because they do not include step by step instructions. However, I have produced two YouTube videos and written two extensive blog articles about my workstation design. I am also including the Sketchup file so that you can see a 3-D representation of the workstation. You can also modify the Sketchup file to suit your own personal needs. With this information, I believe that you will have no problem building your workstation.
Tell Me About YOUR Workstation!
Please contact me when you are done building your workstation. I would love to hear how you like my design and I am also very interested to see what if any modifications you made to improve on it!
